Shangri-La Diet - Day 1
Weight: 199 lbs.
Fasting Blood Sugar: 97
I ordered the Shangri-La Diet book from amazon.com, and I read it last night. It is pretty short, and I am a fast reader, so I was able to read the whole thing in one evening, although I did skim some of the later chapters pretty fast.
I am very excited to be starting it today. It really sounds like it could work. The author has gotten quite a few testimonials, almost all of them very positive.
I decided to go with the sugar water rather than the extra-light olive oil. I am going to start with 6 tablespoons of sugar, 3 in the morining and 3 in the afternoon.
Eventually I may go to fructose. This is not supposed to raise your blood sugar as much as sucrose does. But for right now, I didn't have any fructose in the house, and I did have sugar, so ... I will just make sure to sip it slowly over 1/2 hour, like the book says.
So here goes Day 1 - I will keep you posted.
