Shangri-La Diet - Day 8
This morning, driving to work, I felt so great. I feel much younger - that is, not so sluggish from having an overfull stomach like I usually do. I was having flashbacks to how I felt in my teens and twenties, before I got heavy.
I don't know how I got into the habit of eating all the time. I think it was stress.
I also feel a little happier than normal now. It is ironic that I was eating to feel better, but that actually made me feel worse. Not eating so much is making me feel better.
This diet is full of paradoxes. The idea of the diet appealed to me right away because of the paradox of taking a little bit of sugar to cure a condition that was caused by eating way too much sugar. It is almost like homeopathy, which I heard works by taking small amounts of the thing that is causing you problems. (I only know this from reading - have never tried it myself.)
Yesterday evening was tough - a lot of lightheadedness, which made me feel irritable. I decided to just stick with it. Today I'm glad I did.
